The Swiss Federal Office for the Environment is cooperating with AQUACROSS for Case Study 7: Biodiversity management for rivers of the Swiss Plateau and is represented on the SPBTT. The Swiss Federal Office for the Environment is the Swiss federal government’s centre of environmental expertise and is part of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication. It is responsible for ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources, minimising natural hazards, reducing risks to the environment and human health from excessive pollution, conserving biodiversity and landscapes, and representing Switzerland in international environmental policy arenas.
Dr. Yael Schindler Wildhaber is a research scientist at the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment and represents case study seven on the SPBTT. She holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Basel University and is an expert in soil science, hydrology, and micro-pollutants.
