Managing biodiversity from local to global: an EU perspective

This short brief was developed in light of AQUACROSS's participation in the IUCN World Congress on biodiversity in Honolulu, Hawaii. The brief details the objectives of the project, the overlap and need for integration of EU and global biodiversity targets and committments, and the relevance of the EU as a test-lab for operationalising eco-system based management in aquatic ecosystems.

Wrap-Up of the AQUACROSS Forum

Over 70 experts and practitioners working in the field of aquatic management gathered in Alcalá de Henares, Spain for the AQUACROSS Forum on the 27th and 28th June 2016. Participants from Europe (from 14 EU Member States) and beyond (such as the USA, Russia, and Israel) included policymakers, scientists, marine and freshwater managers and members of the business community. The 1.5 day Forum consisted of multiple panels, discussions and breakout sessions.
